“Kinky Fridays were organized for 2 years, until the place was closed by the police. Every Thursday, parties were held in the same place for men only, and soldiers with machine guns, police, and a prosecutor entered. They arrested about 10 people, who were charged with very serious charges, resulting in one man hanging himself out of shame in his cell in Gada.Television had played a catalytic role in the shaming of those arrested, who were all released in the following days and in the following years all the serious charges collapsed. The “attack” on the Spices Club and the suicide of one of the arrested was the reason for the Greek Stonewall to begin and for us to come out to claim our freedom. The Spices Club was the start of the Athens Pride Parade!”

Below I give you a taste of the Kinky Fridays, the Press Releases and the photographic material (banners, invitations, flyers) that I sent everywhere, even to the media. The parties were completely successful and filled the gap in the Athenian scene for a first tour and contact with European “sex and play parties”.

In many European cities we had a multitude of such events and even with a completely uninhibited and very active audience! In Athens we tried to make a start! The parties had shows but the active participation of the audience was very small. It has been 12 years and there is still no such place in our city that hosts queers, lesbians, sm’ers etc…

Friday, November 29th, the film will be screened:

AFTERSCHOOL SPECIAL,the film won the Fatale Media First Annual Real Lesbian Sex Contest award.

The musical soundtrack of the evening will range from deep house sounds to erotic tunes and as time goes by it will rise to progressive house, with DJ Nikitas Karagiannis on the decks.
