The first ever Pornigraphic Art Film Festival in 2005 was the occasion for the creation of the Berlin Porn Festival. It had been preceded by the acquaintance with Bruce LaBruce’s producer Jurgen Bruning and I had brought the two of them to Athens a few months earlier, screening Bruce LaBruce’s then-new film Raspberry Reich at the Mikrokosmos cinema and introducing them to the Athenian audience for the first time.

The adventures of that first festival were great and until the last moment, with 3-block long lines of people waiting to enter, the owner of the cinema wanted the festival canceled, at the last minute he decided that it is illegal to screen pornographic films and this was only a small part of the difficulty of holding it.

In the end, the festival started 2 hours later and was a huge success, and of course the entire program was the creation of the esteemed Jurgen Bruning, who decided to start it next year in Berlin.

I organized the Berlin Porn Film Festival in Athens in Athens for 6 consecutive years with the full support of Jurgen Bruning.

These are very few words about the “history” of the festival! The first step was taken in Athens and despite the incredible difficulties, the memories only bring tears of joy. The poster was placed in many central points of the city and caused incredible reactions for its content!

The newspaper Eleftherotypia hosted a huge interview with Maria Beatty in its main lounge, where she talked about sadomasochistic lesbian sex!

22:00 CAUGHT LOOKING by Konstantinos Giannaris (1991, 58’). In an interactive game, a man switches between his virtual personas and wanders through the corridors of his sexual fantasies. Teddy Bear Award for Best Short Film, Berlin Film Festival 1991.

23:30 Elegant spanking by Maria Beatty & Rosemary Delain (1995, 45′).

The story of a lesbian S/M relationship. A captivating chain of nostalgically hot images, shocking, entertaining, overflowing with sexual perversions.

00:30 SEX GARAGE by Fred Halsted (1972, 34’). An experimental film from the 1960s. A satire of motorcyclists and the cult of masculinity in car repair shops.

PINK NARCISSUS by James Bidgood (1971, 70’). A film that takes us into the world of fantasy through breathtaking camera movements, all set in a small Manhattan apartment.

22:00 ECSTASY IN BERLIN, 1926 by Maria Beatty (2004, 45’). A golden Weimar doll slips a needle into her soft thigh and in her euphoria she sinks into an erotic fantasy.

THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS – The Seven Deadly Sins by Maria Beatty (2002, 52’). A young maid jealous of the social status of her young mistress, a famous exotic dancer, submits to her sadism and lust. Best Film Award at the Festival Internacional de Cine Erotico De Barcelona XII 2004, in the Fetish category and Best Actress Award.

NAKED HIGHWAY by Wash Westmoreland (1997, 110’). An award-winning film and the best porn film of the year, his film pays homage to “Thelma and Louise” and has been compared to works by Gregg Araki and Wong Kar-wai.

 22:00 FORBIDDEN LETTERS by Arthur J. Bressan (1976, 70’). A love story with revealing erotic scenes. It is complemented by “porn flicks” photographs by Joe Dallesandro from the 1960s.

23:15 PICCADILY PICKUPS (1999, 90’) by Amory Peart.

Alexis Arquette doesn’t just act, he gets hit, jumped on, and wears wings. The light-hearted treatment of masculinity is responsible for creating a lot of confusion.

01:00 THE BACK ROW by Jerry Douglas (1972, 85’). With Casey Donovan in one of his first roles. A New York of unbridled sex, in an era before AIDS. Uneasy camera, authentic haunts and a story with a tragic ending.

Thursday, November 10

22:00 BIJOU by Wakefield Poole (1972, 75’). A builder finds a card that leads him to a mysterious club, full of lights, fog and mirrors. Experimental cinema techniques for the first time in pornographic cinema.

23:30 KELLERLOCH by Jurgen Bruning (2003, 90’). A smut in a completely sensual atmosphere that combines cinematic means and revealing homosexual sex.

01:15 GUYS ON THEIR WAY DOWN by Ebo Hill (2005, 120’). Punk-trass film, shot in underground Berlin. Drag Queens and sexual fetishes. A masterpiece of gay self-expression.

 Closing Night:
